We sewed these for the week after the holidays, when a tree comes apart in three sections and there is nowhere sensible to put it. The pack holds two bags, the larger one for a nine foot tree and the smaller for a seven and a half foot tree, so a house with a tree in the hall and another upstairs does not need two separate purchases. Both open along their whole length, which is the part that matters when you are feeding branches in on a landing.

How this one is put together

Two sizes in one pack
The larger bag takes a disassembled artificial tree up to nine feet and the smaller one up to seven and a half. We sized both with room around the sections, so branches go in without being pressed flat against the wall of the bag.
Coated tarpaulin face
The body is a coated tarpaulin that resists tearing and sheds water rather than soaking it up. It wipes down with a damp cloth, and it keeps attic dust off the sections between seasons.
Three stitched handles
Each bag carries three handles stitched through the body, two across the top to lift it like a duffel and one on the side for dragging it along a floor. The side handle is the one that earns its keep on a staircase.
A clear slot for the label
A transparent card slot sits on the outside of each bag. Write what went in, slide the card in, and next December you reach for the right bag instead of opening both.
